Annie Hall por Melhor Despedida
Por que todas não são assim?
After that it got pretty late, and we both had to go, but it was great seeing Annie again. I… I realized what a terrific person she was, and… and how much fun it was just knowing her; and I… I, I thought of that old joke, y’know, the, this… this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, “Doc, uh, my brother’s crazy; he thinks he’s a chicken.” And, uh, the doctor says, “Well, why don’t you turn him in?” The guy says, “I would, but I need the eggs.” Well, I guess that’s pretty much now how I feel about relationships; y’know, they’re totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd, and… but, uh, I guess we keep goin’ through it because, uh, most of us… need the eggs.
PS1: Que tal a versão de Diane Keaton Annie Hall para It had to be you?
I feel that life is divided into the horrible and the miserable. That’s the two categories. The horrible are like, I don’t know, terminal cases, you know, and blind people, crippled. I don’t know how they get through life. It’s amazing to me. And the miserable is everyone else. So you should be thankful that you’re miserable, because that’s very lucky, to be miserable.
Razão e Sensibilidade por Melhor Declaração
Não precisa complicar. Poucas palavras bastam.
At Norland my behaviour was very wrong. But I convinced myself you felt only friendship for me and it was my heart alone that I was risking. I have come with no expectations. Only to profess, now that I am at liberty to do so, that my heart is and always will be yours.
É tanto que eu perdoei a fase Stuart Little…
Be Italian!
The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one and it would not be a wasted life.
A perfeita combinação entre fotografia e filosofia.
They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan. I say, Japan was made by a handful of brave men. Warriors, willing to give their lives for what seems to have become a forgotten word: honor.
(…)
Winter, 1877. What does it mean to be Samurai? To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles. To seek a stillness of your mind. And to master the way of the sword.
(…)
Spring, 1877. This marks the longest I’ve stayed in one place since I left the farm at 17. There is so much here I will never understand. I’ve never been a church going man, and what I’ve seen on the field of battle has led me to question God’s purpose. But there is indeed something spiritual in this place. And though it may forever be obscure to me, I cannot but be aware of its power. I do know that it is here that I’ve known my first untroubled sleep in many years.
(…)
1876… day unknown, month unknown. I continue to live among these unusual people. I’m a captive and I cannot escape. Mostly I’m treated with a kind of mild neglect, as if I were a stray dog, or an unwelcome guest. Everyone smiles and bows, but beneath their courtesy I detect a deep reservoir of feeling. They are an intriguing people, from the moment they awake, they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue — I have never seen such discipline. I’m surprised to learn that the word “Samurai” means “to serve” and Katsumoto believes his rebellion to be in the service of the Emperor.
And so the days of the Samurai had ended. Nations, like men, it is sometimes said, have their own destiny. As for the American Captain, no one knows what became of him. Some say that he died of his wounds. Others, that he returned to his own country. But I like to think he may have at last found some small measure of peace, that we all seek, and few of us ever find.
PS2: Outra boa frase do filme, dessa vez do Nathan: I think a man does what he can until his destiny is revealed.
PS3: Assista o trailer:
We seem to have reached the age where life stops giving us things and starts taking them away.
No fucking idea.
Vale a pena, eu prometo.
PS2: Quer conhecer o currículo do Christoph? Veja no IMDB.
PS3: O site do Bastardos Inglórios é bem bonitinho.
PS4: Vale entrar no original.
PS4: Ainda não viu Bastardos Inglórios? Loser!
Alta Fidelidade por Melhor Mania
O que eu mais gosto nesse filme? A mania de fazer listas.
Top five things I miss about Laura: 1 - Sense of humor. Very dry, but it can also be warm and forgiving. And she’s got one of the best all time laughs in the history of all time laughs, she laughs with her entire body. 2- she’s got character. Or at least she had character before the Ian nightmare. She’s loyal and honest, and she doesn’t even take it out on people when she’s having a bad day. That’s character. 3 – miss her smell, and the way she tastes. It’s a mystery of human chemistry and I don’t understand it, some people, as far as their senses are concerned, just feel like home. 4 – I really dig how she walks around. It’s like she doesn’t care how she looks or what she projects and it’s not that she doesn’t care it’s just, she’s not affected I guess, and that gives her grace. And 5; she does this thing in bed when she can’t get to sleep, she kinda half moans and then rubs her feet together an equal number of times… it just kills me. Believe me, I mean, I could do a top five things about her that drive me crazy but it’s just your garden variety women you know, schizo stuff and that’s the kind of thing that got me here.
E não é só uma mania. Tem todo o cuidado por trás (The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don’t wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch.
#prontofalei.
PS3: Nada de citar o slogan de Tostines. Daqui pra frente é Alta Fidelidade: What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
You bring the crowns and heads of conquered kings to my city steps. You insult my queen. You threaten my people with slavery and death! Oh, I’ve chosen my words carefully, Persian. Perhaps you should have done the same!
Madness…? This is Sparta!
Tonight we dine in hell!!
PS1: Alô, Ricardo Gomes? Fica a dica!
PS2: Eu tenho respeito pelo Gerard Butler. Nesse filme.
- Memory is a wonderful thing if you don’t have to deal with the past. (…) You can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details.
Não?
A Outra Face por Melhor Troca
Tudo começou assim…
e, então, o agente do FBI Sean Archer (John Travolta) tornou-se o psicopata Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage)…
…e ficou bem menos chato.
And remember: everytime you look in a mirror you’ll see my face.
